Quick Update!

Hello all. It has been a couple of weeks since my last blog and I have seriously been slacking. We have been extra busy as of late with the end of my school term nearing and everything else we've had going on. We had a very busy memorial day weekend. My dad and Darren tore out our back porch and dedicated a day and half to working on that. We also had Jason's surprise birthday party on Saturday which was countless hours of fun for all of us! Darren got a new job last week welding and he is awaiting an opening through the HVAC union. He is very eager for this job venture to start, but in the mean time is enjoying the hard work he is doing now. He will be back in school for another week or two in June! Braeden and Brooklynd are growing so fast. Brooklynd just recently has started talking more and more which is very exciting for us all. Braeden of course talks a lot (like his mom!) but is forming full sentences. They are both happy & healthy babies that we are thankful for every day. We hope you all enjoyed your long weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you lovely women! I hope you all had a spectacular Mother's Day...we did! Our family, my parents, Trista, Jason & Kody all headed out to the zoo for brunch it was great and we took the kids through the zoo afterwards. It wasn't too sunny and wasn't raining so in our book it was perfect. We got to see the sea lions being fed and doing tricks which was pretty cool and ran into a few people we had seen the night before at Darren's friend Zack's baby shower BBQ. His wife Carrie is having a girl, expected in June. The clothes she received were adorable! After the zoo, I took a 45 minute nap for the first time in a long time. All in all our weekend was fun filled. As you can tell by the delay in posting we are even busier than before. I am taking 3 classes in school 1 regular, 1 online and 1 telecourse. Midterms were last week and the previous one...I did fairly well, but the reading in these 3 classes is killing me! I will be thankful for summer term. I have signed up for 2 online classes and will be thankful for the break. Darren's has started his softball season and his second game is on Wednesday I missed last weeks because I had a midterm, but they won and the guys were excited about it.

Braeden's 2nd "Real" Haircut

Over the weekend, I took Braeden to a salon called Lil' Clippers (on 82nd) to get his 2nd real haircut. Darren has given him a few since his 1st haircut, but we figured he was big enough to sit still long enough, so I took him and boy did he need it. The place is adorable and is comparably priced to the others. They have toys galore and fun stuff for the kids (movies at each station- Braeden watched, or rather I watched Jay Jay the Jet Plane!). They also can put color or glitter in your hair. They have the cutest kids products too...in Braeden's hair they spiked it and put glue (it came from a bottle that looked exactly like Elmer's Glue...so adorable!) I cannot wait to take Brooklynd for his 1st haircut, well actually I can because I adore his baby curls, but I know when I'm ready where I am taking him. Here are a few pics- no doubt they thought I was crazy for taking pics, actually they thought it was his 1st haircut. I had to explain I just take way too many pictures of my babies and everything else!! :-)

Happy Easter to All!

Hello All and Happy Bunny Day!! We hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a lovely Easter. We have had a full weekend of running around and we are also on technology overload right now as we have just recently purchased a laptop, a new camera and a pda! I have been in serious need of the PDA and am so excited to finally have one, but more excited to be caught up enough with household chores and homework to get sometime (after the kiddos go to bed!) to spend using it :-) Darren has been hard at work loading the new computer with all of my software and I will be excited to use that as well- he is enjoying it very much :-) We tested out the movie viewing on it by watching (most of ) Happy Feet. A friend lent it to us over the weekend and so Braeden learned to say "Happy Feet" everytime he sees the penguin he yells that! Both of our babies had a wonderful Easter spent with friends and family - the Easter Bunny came to visit Braeden at Nini & Kody's house and he came to see Brooklynd at our house. As we do annually, we went to TIm and Lori's for Easter Brunch. We had a lot of fun and more than enough food and the brown-sugar bacon as usual was delightful...It's a brunch favorite! We headed to my parents house after the celebration to put the kids down for a nap and then to play some cards. As of late we have taken to playing cards with my family and we enjoy it very much. The boys have kicked our you know what's and it has caused some friendly competitive tension (well mostly friendly!), but in the end we all enjoy ourselves and our competitive nature subsides (mostly). We hope you all have a great week. It's off to bed I go. Take care.
