The Last Fling before the Ring...

Haa..haa...I totally stole that title from Katie :-) This weekend Darren and I went to Kim and Sean's bachelor and bachelorette parties! Kim's party consisted of a wine tasting, dinner at the beach, listening to a jazz band at the casino bar, and a limo ride to Chinook Winds along with dancing. There was 11 girls total and we had a blast. The event started on Saturday at noon and continued into the next day at about the same time. Trista and I were the late nighters staying out gambling until 6:30am while the rest of the party was asleep by 3:30am! I am so thankful I could share in the events it was SO much fun and such a great experience and I am SO happy to have been included. I will post pics asap...

Jeremy and Cally's Wedding

We went to our friends wedding in Lincoln City yesterday. We left Portland at around 10am and the wedding was at 2pm. We got to town about 12:30pm had a quick bite to eat and started to head to the wedding when we realized we were going the wrong way, out of town....darn it! So needless to say then the rush was on. We had to sit in the traffic (again) heading back into town and go just over 60 blocks to the wedding! We made it only a few minutes late and there were a few other car loads which arrived after us. By the time Darren had changed and I had gotten the boys changed we were rushing in, but definitely worked out very well. The wedding was beautiful. It was at the bride's grandmother's house, with a beautiful bay side view. It was a family affair so I was very thankful that we had decided to take the kids, they had a great time blowing bubbles and playing with the other kids. We headed home around 5pm and were going to stop at the beach and let the boys play in the sand, but the weather was a bit misty and Brooklynd had fallen asleep right before we stopped! All in all it worked out well. This weekend was the last for my Summer Term in school!! YAY. This term was good, but I think my classes will result in B's! Darn it, you know I like A's. It is my own fault though. I didn't spend the time I should have on either class, I put forth a minimal effort. Ah, well I got public speaking out of the way and am thankful for that :-) I am scheduled for 3 classes for next term, but one is a night class and with Darren's current work schedule it isn't feasible unless someone else watches them. We'll see! Here are a few pics of our family from the wedding and some of the bride and groom!

Happy 30th Birthday Nikki!

My dear friend Nicole Clark is turning 30 today. We celebrated her birthday with a surprise party that Karen, I and her boyfriend Jason planned last Saturday (August 11th.) It was a huge success. There were lots of decorations, lots of food, a few cakes and drinks & dancing too! I am not sure exactly how surprised she was, but she was very happy and had a good time, so that is the most important! I will be posting pics of our crazy night. I took around 230 photos so there were a few good ones. I think we had about 40 people including family and friends so that was a good turn out and it was nice for all of us to be able to get together. We have another busy weekend ahead. My co-worker Jeremy's wedding is this weekend at Lincoln City. We are taking the babies as was encouraged by the happy couple. Their son Tanner (who is near Brooklynds age) will be in the wedding. I have my last speech for class due on Sunday and my final paper for my writing class due as well. Then a break for a few weeks and back to it for Fall Term. Darren is working a lot still he works full time at his job with the union and about 20 hours in 3-4 days at his second job. It's wearing on him a little and the boys and I dearly miss him during the week too, but he will continue it for a while longer.
